Channel Islands – Plants from the islands off the coast of Southern California are found in The Channel Islands Section. These islands house a flora that has experienced different evolutionary pressure from the mainland leading to unusual specializations. One of these result in island species being larger or more treelike than their mainland nearest relatives.
