Botanic Garden docents have been surveying birds in the Garden for many years. Their observations are summarized in this Botanic Garden Checklist of 90 bird species seen in the Garden, which includes nesting species, monthly sighting frequency, and habitat prevalence.

There is also an Excel spreadsheet of birds’ plant use in the Garden. You can download the spreadsheet and sort the data by relevant terms, which can help with projects such as:

  • Planning your own bird-friendly garden
  • Plotting an occurrence graph of migrating birds
  • Searching for old nests in the Garden
